Ancient and Historical Coins is dedicated to the study of ancient and historical coins from all parts of the world. It is organized by a  small group of collectors, enthusiasts, and authors who post a variety of articles, coins, and information.  Subjects of interest include ancient coins, Asian coins, coins of artistic beauty, coin authentication, forgery, and digital coin imaging. The site was originally developed by Dr. R Allan Barker who is a scientist and author of the reference book, The Historical Cash Coins of Vietnam.  The site is currently expanding with additional coins and articles. The majority of the coins on this site are from the members' private collections, some of which are available for purchase directly from their owners. Coins and other artifacts for sale are listed in the Ancient and Historical Shop, which is run by the same folks.
